Originally constructed in 1937 as the Sunshine School, this historic building underwent a transformative renovation project to cater to the needs of parenting teens. The renovation encompassed extensive accessibility improvements, including the installation of elevators and ramps, alongside essential upgrades such as sprinkler systems, lighting enhancements, and comprehensive window replacements. Notably, the preservation of architectural character was paramount, with a meticulous focus on retaining the building's historic charm. H+A Architects seamlessly integrated modern amenities while honoring the original design ethos, showcasing their commitment to architectural integrity. Through thoughtful design and preservation efforts, Hilltop High School now stands as a multifunctional hub that pays homage to its past while embracing the needs of the present, embodying a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.
